Album Review

Ebtekar is an Iranian “electronic composer and sound artist”. This double LP consists of 4 sides, what sounds to me like 4 tracks (unless I’m missing something). Despite being 12” 33rpm each is on the short side, 10-15 minutes max. Experimental and droney for sure, it sounds like an orchestra put through a pitch changer and tape speed manipulated. Quite interesting and good, definitely heady stuff that one might expect to find in the “Stanford University Radio Station Library” if one were to say that in a haughty ivory tower affected intellectual voice. This has local connections, mastered by noise progenitor/master Thomas Dimuzio. Play any.
