Lumbering, nocturnal, crushing guitar drone—mandatory listening for fans of early Earth, Melvins’ “Lysol” and all bands that drew from that sound (e.g. Sunn O))), Sujo et al). I first heard this on Cy Thoth’s show on KFJC, and I bet this is what he plays when he sneaks a power nap in his cocoon. Waves of feedback rise on a gentle tide and gradually drown the ears in massive, suffocating chords. Fans of more out-there stuff like Olekranon or the Sunn O))) side project Lotus Eaters will appreciate the brief forays into avant-garde, though anything that even hints at harmony is not spared by the sonic bulldozer of distorted drone. It should be noted that the first two tracks have no silence between them, and the guitar only comes in halfway through the 2nd track; playing this on continuous is probably ideal. Drone drone drone mothafuckin’ drone… play this, it’s awesome.

1. (3:31) Sleepy AM static and electric cricket chirping. Apocalyptic gusts of wind, slight crescendo.
2. (8:35) …the foggy bliss from the previous track continues, and a massive wall of guitar drone slowly emerges.
3. (13:18) Dark, creepy, spacious void hovers and is soon infected with low, rumbling chords; total “Earth 2” worship.
