Git Some "Exhaustion = Feracity" 45ep 7"/ Alternative Tentacles
This IS punk as F%&k...'Soright? 'Soright! (it's a Senor Wences reference for all us old folks). Pretty much that early-to-mid 80s punchy, thud-like aggressive 3-4 person line-up w/ guitars, bass, drums. RIYL: Minutemen, early Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Crass, Bad Brains, Fear, Fang, Frontline (from San Jose), Executioner (also SJ), DKs, early Husker Du...you get the idea. Also, side B has a whole set of other bands just for that one song! Despite all that thrash-y hardcore business, these kids actually have some chops. Tempo changes, stylistic touches...aw, YOU listen to this - perhaps you'll dig it. *FCC*, so be careful. sez ol' HxJx.
A-side:
1) "Exhaustion = Feracity" I'm fairly certain, after at least 5 listens (either stone-cold sober, buzzed and/or slightly tipsy after just ONE), that there're LOTSA *FCC*-nasty-profane-patently- offensive-get-you-in-troube-words. Lead singer screams howls and sneers and belts out this peppy, "1-2-3-4!!"-ish dose of slammin' angst-y fun. HxJx's "pick-to-click".
CAUTION! *FCC* "fucked-off" at very end...which tracks immediately into the next song
2) "Wipe the Brain" Chugging, 3/4-time rhythm (I think) has great tempo shifts Ronnie James Dio-like vocals, and a heavy dose of that good old A/T attitude. *FCC*
Side B:
3) Accountability Starts With Me" *FCC* This slow, ominously-chorded masterpiece seems to be a mad scientist's blend of Dead Kennedys, Gone, Dio (really!), Rollins Band, early Metallica, Saint Vitus, and the legendary Palo Alto band Half Church (R.I.P. Jinx). HxJx's "pick-to-click", you betcha. Bonus: If you play this at 33rpm, it sounds like Killdozer!
