Post-punk
Twisted takes on post-punk sounds. Everything sounds slightly off, from the somewhat tuneless instrumentation to the way the synths and the other instruments on Frankie’s Song don’t really match up. Unsettling stuff. No FCCs noted.

Stella, My Star (Black Side)—Medium-fast tempo. Stripped-down, dark, visceral post-punk led by half-spoken female vocals. Maintains the same mood throughout the song.
Frankie’s Song (Grey Side)—Cheap, upbeat synths seem to anticipate a happy, nostalgic tune. Instead they clash with the medium-slow post-punk instrumentation to create an atmosphere of unease in the first half. Then the song abruptly becomes slower, less tuneful, and much creepier.
