Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2012-05-29
Electronic madness, noisey and fun, irreverent sounding and strange all around. Sounds like something that should be on Deathbomb Arc or some other label that features brain damaged music. This is fun good stuff, all instrumental (for all intents), FCC clean, synth/sequence/tape loop based. For fans of Residents, Bran Flakes, Dominic Cramp and Gigante Sound artists (Borful Tang, Qulfus, Motown Meltdown, et al.). These guys have been doing this for 15+ years, on great labels including DFA. Check it out, all tracks great.

1) (5:10) descending spy riff with overlay of fucked up synth and treated vocs, midway shifts into beat-heaviness
2) (4:21) wacky electro, comical almost
3) (4:23) strangeness continues, weird but with a cool near-rock riff and bass/beat
4) (3:28) more
5) (4:44) slower strangeness
6) (5:38) heavy simple beat, gets complex and cool
7) (4:13) slower beat, funky fuckedupness
8) (8:17) cool echoey/reverbed beat, “vocals” mashed up into a mess, something more low fi and charming and noisey about this track
9) (5:50) cool beat, cool feel, fun and cheery in a brain damaged sort of way, love it
