Doe and Cervenka are two of the founding members of legendary L.A. punk band X. They’ve been playing together occasionally since those days 30 years ago, and here is a stripped down (mostly) acoustic venture. Although it’s a bit rough around the edges, the album still strikes a positive nostalgic chord on the old X songs and has some strong versions of each’s solo tunes. Just guitars and vocals. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 1, 3, 6, 7, 8.

1. *(2:31) Mid. Quick-strummed guitar. Upbeat, despite lyrics. Lead vocal by Exene.
2. (3:11) Slow / Mid. False start. Lead vocal by Exene, Acoustic and electric guitar duet.
3. *(2:35) Mid / Fast. Crunchy, driving elec guitar, lead vocal by John. Song about our hoarding habits. Kick-ass.
4. (2:42) Mid. Ominous song about war. They take turns signing verses and harmonize on chorus.
5. (2:47) Mid. Acoustic guitar w/ Exene on lead vocal.
6. *(2:13) Mid. Feel-good song w/ bright acoustic guitar, sung by Exene. Nice.
7. *(4:07) Slow / Mid. Classic X song done acoustic w/ nice harmonizing and some slide.
8. *(5:42) Slow / Mid. Funny spoken intro. Live version of song #7, acoustic w/ the audience digging it.
