21ST CENTURY: "The City" -- Debut EP of this seven-piece indie pop band from Berkeley, who dumped their Grammy-winning producer a year ago, then refurbished their songs. Folksy, campfire sing-along, happy music with cheerful harmony. Group has performed at The Independent, Red Devil Lounge and Great American Music Hall.
Personal favorites: 3, 4, 5. -- Sunshine, June 2012

1) The City Is My Sweetheart -- Folk music wiith guitar and gentle vocal harmony. (3:12)
2) Jigsaw Paws -- Reverb guitar to start. Then strumming. Mix of electric and acoustic. Then Byrds-like vocals. Mixed-up tempos. (2:56)
* 3) We Are Waiters -- Happy lament. Mid-tempo, wiith introspective lyrics. (3:09)
* 4) The Parisian Translations -- Bluesy guitar arpeggios. Folksy vocals with reflective lyrics. The groove is a bit redundant. (4:53)
* 5 The Good Things (Act I and Act II)( -- Subtle crowd opening with lightweight guitar strumming. The rich finger-picking and vocals. A bit countrified. (5:24)
6) A Funeral March (The State of Our Parade) -- Piano, almost like chopsticks! Questioning life's choices, etc. (4:33)
