Ambient/experimental
Carefully arranged, minimalist music for a calm winter day. If any element of these songs sticks out as the centerpiece, it’s the soft, high-pitched male voice. It’s as though that voice belongs to the lead singer of a band that speaks no known language and feels the frailties of old age. It makes sense Peters and Roden drew inspiration from death poems written by Japanese monks. “Frail” is probably one of the best words that I can use to describe this album. That and “lovely.” Play any track. No FCCs.

1. (11:21)—High-pitched, grainy drones. Occasional sharply bowed stringed instrument. Clicking sounds. Plucked strings.
2. (8:22)— The ringing of bells and other metal objects. Ghostly vocal drones. Hollow, light percussion.
3. (7:31)—Slowly plucked acoustic guitar. High-pitched, drifting drones—like manipulated violin. Chimes. Breathing.
4. (7:20)—Piano. Rubbed strings that produce squeaking tones. Vocal drones. Soft, watery background sounds.
