Artist: Crocodiles Album: Endless Flowers Genre: Indie Rock RIYL: Jesus and Mary Chain, Echo and the Bunnymen, Toy Fuzzed-out San Diego psych-rock band They used a wild range of guitar-based genre this time, which might reach a wider range of audience, but it’s also a lot to soak in at once. FCC clean *1. Endless Flowers (4.36)- cheerful, bleary guitar distortion, warped *2. Sunday (Psychic Conversation #9) (3.11)- sunnier disposition, brash, bold, crunching, a flurry of distortion and keyboards that burst through the chaos **3. No Black Clouds for Dee Dee(3.11)- reminiscent, Lead Dum Dum Girls, Welchez’s wife, is the muse of this song, peppy, swooning ode 4. Electric Death Song (3.49)- bittersweet, carefree 5. Hung Up On a Flower (6.36)- slow-tempo, sadness, disheartened, echoes of female vocals close the song, psychedelic indulgence *6. My Surfing Lucifer (5.05)- beautiful psych-rock, and shoegazey guitars *7. Dark Alleys (5.26)- rollicking, fiery, brash, mellow, hooky, fuzz-bombed cuts 8. Bubblegum Trash(4.10)- grit-flecked sweetness, catchy 9. Welcome Trouble (2.49)- loud, dizzying, and fuzzed out, with a throttling overdrive of pop melody 10. You Are Given (2.42)- weak ending, dull, lazy, idle |
