JAZZ FUSION – Patrick Forgas and a 7-piece ensemble create music that straddles the line between frenetic jazz composition and slower rock jams, going back and forth multiple times a song. Very energetic and dramatic jazz combined with lush rock. All instrumental.
1 (6:23) – Frenzy mixed with upbeat jam. Gets faster with an electric guitar noodling in the back.
2 (7:13) – Driving guitar, quick pace calms down to gentle, post-rock-esque midtempo beat with flutes, strings, and horns interweaved. Middle-eastern vibes. Slowly gets faster again.
3 (10:14) – Goes from “expository sound” to energetic quickly, with an almost prog-rock ballad in the middle so you can catch your breath. Great variety of melody and instrumentation.
4 (8:18) – Upbeat right from the start. Electric guitars and strings immerse themselves with jazz instrumentation to create a jazz song with rock instrumentation. Has some midtempo prog in the middle like the previous song. Great soloing throughout by all.
5 (6:47) – Quick jazz intro gives way to rock instrumentation. Strings and guitar play a nice melody.
6 (13:25) – Aggressive guitar, relentless driving beat that can’t decide if it’s jazz or rock. Goes through quite a few flip flops. Keeps layering on the instruments in a lush soundscape.
