Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Trouble TEED, also known as England's Orlando Higginbottom (couldn’t make this shit up if I tried), has just released his debut album through major label Casablanca Records. Mix of post-dubstep tranquility, hot beats, synths, and happy sounds. Orlando sings in almost every track, usually in a slightly breathy style-- sometimes beautifully though (Mr. Higginbottom was a choral director). FCC: 4 PICKS: 8, 10, 5, 1 Sounds like: SBTRKT, Yelle, Of Montreal 1.*(4:20) Upbeat, fast. Epic build up (shimmers included!) Medium synths. 2.(3:49) Upbeat, fast. Fun, tropical song with steel drums “you make me happyyy” 3.(4:45) Melancholy, fast. Breathiness to a whole new level! The shimmers never end… 4.(3:35) [FCC: SHIT] Big room sound on this one. Could be a big rave anthem or something. Pauses, then bloops resume. 5.*(3:50) “YOUR LOVE!” Feel good, sassy female vox, hip shaker, kewl beats 6.(3:45) Fast, fuller vocals, synthesizing different melodies (borderline technic?) 7.(6:11) Interesting track—fade in and out of vocals, cowbell (?), repetitive beat may not warrant 6 minutes 8.*(4:36) Beautiful track! Lush, dancey, fem & male vocals, blips/bloops, WOO HOO! 9.(5:48) Melancholy, sadder. Trumpet blare. Echos, ghostly 10.*(3:40) Cool beats, foot tapping if not body swaying, cool rises and falls (too bad the vocals are slightly obnoxious) 11.(5:08) Oh melancholy goodness!
