Album Review

Beautiful, dreamy ambient. With each release, it seems that 12k reinforces its “sound.” Scott’s newest album fits right in, as it explores melodic dreams of hazy bliss with light pianos, echoey guitars, and percussion clicks. The former Slowedive drummer has gone on to start his own experimental electronic label (Keshhhhhh Recordings), and has been prolific in the boomkat/ bladerunnercore scene since 2009. The real album comes with an 80-page booklet/diary of notes, sketches, and the like. For fans of Marcus Fischer, Illuha, Gareth Dickson, Eno, Hidden Shoal. All tracks are great; hard to choose.

*1. Relax, relaxy. Field recordings, chirps, warm guitar cooing, organic chimey dreams. (6:30)
2. Dense, lush drone bliss wave. (7:24)
*3. Synthy ambience cut up and fed through a xerox machine. (5:05)
4. Bumbly jungle warped vinyl feel, lots of layered sounds, whooshing rhythmic tape effects contrasting with droplets of water in second half. (6:31)
*5. Spacious, drifting natural sounds, ringing, beautiful music to fall asleep to. (6:00)
6. Droning, post-industrial, mechanical fuzz wash. (5:48)
*7. Bubbling, buzzing loops + samples and lullaby hypnotism. (7:07)
