Split: Lushy/Tiki Oasis on side A, “Herb”’s Tijuana Taxi on Side B. See tracks for deets. They were both released to commemorate the Tiki convention in San Diego.

1. Lush: Tiki Oasis. Sweet-voiced female singer, bongos in background, funky jungle jive… normal-sounding dudes singing backup. I’m getting a 1968 Olympics vibe here, for reasons I cannot articulate.

2. It’s a cover of Herb Albert’s Tijuana Taxi, but the trumpet is even drunker-sounding. A lot of gravely-voiced mumbling in background, the xylophone soars, and the drummer (Wes Anderson, but not THAT Wes Anderson) goes nuts; this version ROCKS.

Yep, they’re both awesome. No FCCs.
