Solo Lute and Bass, very improvisatory and sparse at times. Sometimes has a contemporary jazz feel, sometimes renaissance music feel.
Favorites: Panting, Sodansdochter, Umbra, Weaving, Recall
1. (2:35) Solace – Arco bass in harmonics, lute noodling above drone often.
2. (3:23) Flutter – Repeated bass line with lute soloing. Very improvisatory, chaotic towards ends.
3. *(2:27) Panting – Rhythmic melody in bass and lute, nice harmonies at points.
4. *(3:23) Soedansdochter – Solo bass with some interspersed lute chords, then nice lute and bass duet towards end.
5. (2:09) Unhinged – Scratching noises from lute, bass harmonics, some staccato chords in lute.
6. *(2:50) Umbra – Nice melodies in lute with bass accompaniment. Bit of a jazzy feel.
7. (3:22) Oblique – Sporadic chords and musical interjections (slapping, popping of strings, etc.)
8. (1:57) Pensive – Dissonant slower piece with bass harmonics over lute chords, very somber.
9. (3:24) Along Green Ditches – Melodic duet, some more subtle dissonances. Metric, and slightly uptempo.
10. (2:14) Blooming – Improvisatory noodling, then bass melodies (with a lot of harmonics) with quiet lute backgrounds.
11. *(3:46) Weaving – Metric, renaissance feeling piece, with nice bass and lute counterpoint.
12. (2:53) Spatter – Noodling, playing with non-musical sounds of instruments.
13. (2:46) Knomish – Slightly dissonant (sounds a bit like John McLaughlin in a way) rhythmic duet between lute and bass. Slightly chaotic in the middle.
14. (2:38) Terpsichore – Bass harmonics, lute noodling, then slightly more organized noodling.
15. *(2:13) Recall – Folk song like duet, with some jazz harmonies.
