Hans Bouffmyhre: Stress Control Label: Sleaze Records

Sleaze Records continues with its onslaught of relentless heart-pounding techno. And it's always good. Label boss Hans Bouffmyhre has got a distinctive ear for punishing beats. All four tracks on this release are good, all very solid techno that is slightly dark, intense, droning, always with brutal beats. I was particularly pleased with Slam's contribution, as the Scottish legends still carry their reputation for putting out big huge beats.

1. "Stress Control": The first beats of this track leave you breathless. The buildups are phenomenal and continually hard-hitting throughout.
2. "(Par Grindvik remix)": Somehow this is lighter and more hypnotic than the original "Stress Control" - there's more atmosphere in this track. But still a great dancefloor banger.
3. "Droning": There is a consistent grind/drone sound throughout this track, but slightly the broken-up pattern of percussion is somehow funky. Spacey too.
4. "(Slam remix)": Scottish legendary producers take the original "Droning" to new hights of twistedness. Very intense and punishing techno version with perfectly timed drop-outs.
