Duane Allman was not only a founding member of legendary band The Allman Brothers, he was also a sought after session guitarist, playing with the likes of Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, King Curtis, Delaney & Bonnie, Derek And The Dominoes, Eric Clapton, etc. Voted #2 (behind Hendrix) as Rolling Stone’s Greatest Guitarists, his slide work was impeccable and featured on several of these tracks. This sampler features Duane with several bands pre-dating what would evolve into The Allman Brothers, namely The Escorts, The Allman Joys and 31st of February, his session work and Brothers classics.
