The Delta Mirror- Better Unsung; Lightwave Records
The Delta Mirror proclaims to be “electro shoe-goth” [source: Twitter]. Many of the songs fall under either: electronica, shoe-gaze pop, or goth (well that’s a stretch). Better Unsung is the sophomore album, straying away from the previous album’s glitchy electronics. Lots of male vocals, which I personally found off-putting, but you may think have a nice Americana charm to them. Or something. Lovely fem/male vocal harmonies on certain tracks, largely stoned drums + guitars, and nice synth action grace this album.

Picks: 4, 7, 9, 10
FCC’s: none detected
(0:44) Cutesy poppy synth instrumental. Teenage boy love song kind of thing.
(5:50) Dark, big slow beats, neat effects on guitar, but the “rocker” male vocals kill it.
3. (3:55) Stoned but sad crooner featuring sliding electric guitar riffs, loose drums. Good for kicking things after a rough break up. Oooh some white noise too!
*4. (4:57) Medium song with shakers, nice guitar, tighter drums, and synth pulses/solo. Male vox too.
5. (2:00) Nice little dance-y synth track with basic beat, cute bloops and musical wind.
6. (4:16) Plucked guitar alongside male/female breathy crooning, small bass too. Meow worthy.
**7. (6:33) Faster but still chilled song with nice synth work, strings (!), nice male vox, and female oo’ing. Worthy of 6 minutes, always changing up.
8. (2:17) Discordant noisey guitar mixed with probability sample, male “ah”s.s
*9. (4:54) Sad strings, soft piano mixed with medium drums + male/fem vocal harmony. Very cool combination.
*10. (5:03) Acoustic guitar, light piano, some shakers “rocker” vocals/ fem “ahs”. You’ll be singing by the end of it too.
11. (10:11) Two songs in one. First is dreamy electronica + piano, second is industrial and grittier, has some rock to it.
