Brilliant, personal songwriting and tasty arrangements from former member of the Drive-By Truckers. FCC violation: Track 4, “Elephant” *= favorite cuts 1 – (4:48) Cover Me Up* Slow tempo, soaring vocals, fiery love song. 2 – (2:47) Stockholm* Mid-tempo, vocal duet with Kim Richey, pretty tune. 3 – (4:25) Traveling Alone* Mid-tempo song about loneliness & love. 4 – (3:33) Elephant* Slow-to-mid tempo song for cancer victim. FCC violation. 5 – (3:52) Flying Over Water* Country rocker, forceful love anthem. 6 – (3:30) Different Days* Mid-tempo, autobiographical, great. 7 – (3:32) Live Oak* Another gritty love ballad, excellent. 8 – (3:50) Songs That She Sang In The Shower* Bar fight, love gone wrong. 9 – (3:50) New South Wales* Another personal, tough look at self.
