Tasha Cobbs/Grace/EMI Gospel
Fully live album. Awesome praise and worship offering from Tasha Cobbs who's now newly signed to EMI Gospel label (formerly independent, Tasha Cobbs Music). Longer tracks but the live feel makes this album a worthwhile listen. Love this album already, and not one song on here I didn't enjoy thoroughly. 1 "*" = Loved, 2 "*s" = Loved even more. My personal favorite from this album was #7, but I could see different seasons of life changing my order of favorites from this album. If you're into praise and worship music, or even into that traditional gospel sound, you'll love this album. Great vocals and emotionally expressive arrangements that are sure to make you "feel" the very real topics discussed and leave encouraged by the last song. No FCC. *1) 5:15 - Medium tempo. Upbeat, using drums, acoustic guitars, bass, synthesized sounds, and a layered piano and electric guitar for melody for the verses. Some type of stringed instrument is used for accents. (Topic: Get up and be who you're called to be)
*2) 6:06 - Medium/fast tempo. Elec guitar carries the intro and is heard in the chorus, acoustic guitar and piano carry the verses, almost marching styled drums, violins can also be heard in the music along with maybe an electric piano or other possibly synthesized sound.
*3) 5:19 - Redid this song for this album, altering the music to include a maraca-type (shaking) instrument, and made it a little more jazzy in sound. Still a med/fast tempo-ed song. Pianos, drums, electric guitars and bass guitars carry the music.
**4) 6:46 - Slow tempo. Piano carried verses, with an organ and other synth sound in background. Drums come in on the second verse, along with an electric guitar.
**5) 6:10 - Slow tempo. Piano/accoustic guitar carried. A sound similar to Chariots of Fire soundtrack (contemplative, emotional), well-timed cymbal crashes. Full drums pick up late in the song, around 2:40 mark.
**6) 5:48 - Slow, worshipful. Piano carried, drums, elec and bass guitar. Crescendos around the 2:00 minute mark. Awesome worship.
***7) 8:18 - Slow tempo (in beginning, picks up around the 3:30 mark, then again at the 4:00 min mark). Electric guitar and light drums start this off.
**8) 6:15 - Med tempo. Jazzy. Elec piano/organ (Hammond B3), simple drums, bass guitar. Solo electric guitar.
