Album Review
Andy S
Reviewed 2013-07-15
Rippin' psych-garage-punk-rock n roll from Chapel Nill, NC. Guitar-amped vocals, twangy guitar noise, and occasional surprisingly droney sonic washouts. Not as solid as their recent LP, but even more energetic in the first stretch. RIYL Black Lips. Most tracks great (top-heavy), FCCs on 2 and 9 (avoidable). -Andy

**1 - (2:29) rowdy, jangly, yet kind of a sonic youth feel to the composition
2 - FCC "shithead" (1:16) fast, intense, shifts into monotonous repetition of "emotional security"
*3 - (2:34) loud, blazed, bouncy; dissonant guitar solos
*4 - (3:16) goofily simple and repetitious, still rough-edged; pissed but joyful
5 - (4:36) slower country plodding, dramatic but restrained, big crescendo
6 - (5:12) ranty, determined, all-over-the-place british invasion jam I guess?
7 - (4:29) dark pleading bar rock, kinda misguided
8 - (4:30) swinging, simple country-ish anthem
9 - FCC "fucked up" (3:22) quiet talking in studio for 40 seconds (avoid FCC by skipping to 0:40); lazy, muddy
*10 - (2:04) fantastic, upbeat and stabbing, raw and messy
