Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2013-07-07
Fans of My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies, Low, 90’s dream rock original-indie rock a la Helium, Lovechild, Swirlies, Ride, should take note. Male/female doubled up swallowed vocals (a la MBV), lots of rich guitars. When things get upbeat its like a less in your face Pixies. Guitar bass drums simple recipe. It works.

1) (4:03) starts somber guitar, Low’ish, but after a minute or two kicks into 90’s styled dream rock
2) (3:19) upbeat driving said dream rock
3) (3:48) Pixies come to mind, later works, upbeat beat heavy
4) (3:02) bigger, more tribal beat, Cure comes to mind even
5) (3:21) simpler, more poppy, sweeter, very nice
6) (4:10) epic big pounding with soaring guitar leads and dramatic breaks
7) (4:21) plodding with acoustic guitar, airy vocs
8) (5:31) more of a somber, chiller piece
9) (3:37) straight forward chimey indie rock, chorus hook, nice
10) (3:47) acoustic guitar, vocal duet, sweet if somber
11) (4:53) big epic A parts, chill B parts, epic dream rock 12) (5:56) even bigger epic loud, quiet epic dream rock
