Markus Suckut: DNA Label: Figure

Unbelievable album by Markus Suckut, excellent techno that's raw, dark, sinister. The beats are powerful and hard-hitting. There's all sorts of interesting noises and textures here, and even within the techno framework he's occasionally funky and dubby too. Some solid bangers include: #2 (Dissociation), #3 (Dust), #4 (Rigid), #8 (Vibrant), and #11 (Mirage). I even liked the two ambient tracks (#6 & #10).

1. "Path" (4:07) - Dark spooky intro, dub-techno downtempo
2. "Dissociation" (5:53) - Punishing. Low pounding beats w/ a creaky tone. Cool.
3. "Dust" (5:41) - Sinister stripped techno with a brutal beat. Love it.
4. "Rigid" (5:53) - Has a thumpin' house beat to it with a funky little loop.
5. "Shatter" (5:31) - Dark & hard-hitting. Droney noise loop w/ thudding beats.
6. "Doomed" (2:54) - Ambient interlude. Brooding synth soundscapes.
7. "Stranger" (6:10) - Minimalistic; simple swirls & pads w/ thumpin' beat.
8. "Vibrant" (5:29) - Bumpy and as funky as he's gonna get w/ this type of techno.
9. "Remains" (5:35) - Sinister and spooky with lots of percussive elements
10. "Places" (4:53) - Downtempo ambient, hard slow beat, nervy synths
11. "Mirage" (7:08) - Acid-inflected tech-house. Probably the best club banger here.
