Haitian-influenced voodoo music w/a jazz flair. A project by Danish-American percussionist Markus Schwartz and Hatian guitarist/vocalist Monvelyno Alexis. Mostly low-key and sparse, but really lovely Sort of a toss-up between whether this should be in world or jazz, but it came to me so I’m keeping it. (Take that, Fo!)

*1. A capella call and response voodoo chant. Very cool harmonies.
2. Relaxed vocals float along over bass then it picks up & spiders along
3. Slow and spare, then a bit brighter. Nice interplay of vox & perc.
*4. Midtempo and fluid w/sweet vocals floating lightly over perc
*5. Slow and relaxed w/sweet e-guitar and vocals. Very cool.
6. Slow and gentle w/soft strings, picks up into a relaxed duet.
7. Downtempo blend of strings, vox, perc.
8. Quiet rain stick, strings, then a bit brighter w/great vocals.
9. Relaxed down/midtempo jazz w/fluid vocals.
