Saxophonist/composer Bergonzi is joined by Phil Grenadier on trumpet, Will Slater on bass, and Karen Kocharyan on drums on a release that showcases his playing and his skill as a composer. Tight playing on complex arrangements yet it retains an air of improv. Good stuff. Grenadier is especially good.

*1. Starts w/a walk and gets jumping w/hot solos from all.
*2. Midtempo & moving small club jam w/great sax flourishes.
3. A mostly upbeat noodle w/the sax playing tag w/percussion.
4. Starts relaxed, picks up. The trumpet really shines in this one.
*5. A lazy urban bop that gains in intensity. Nice solos.
*6. Lively, squirrelly, a twisting composition w/great energy.
7. Mostly midtempo w/some quiet bits. Lots of solos.
8. Down/midtempo urban groove w/a complex interplay of solos.
