Loud, angry, erratic post-hardcore meets metal. Indiana band on a mission. Seriously, they have a manifesto in the liner notes. There are a lot of problems with society, man. Definitely influenced by 80s/90s post-punk like Fugazi and Shellac, but guitars sound pretty metal at times. Songs start and stop without warning. Sometimes completely new song starts halfway through. It's distractingly incoherent as an album, but there are some great tracks (track 2 stands out!). The label says the second half is better than the first, but I think the opposite. FCC clean.

1. * (3:14) Slow chord changes give way to post-hardcore craziness. Lots of starting and stopping. Drums have that Zach Hill thudding, tuned down sound (cool!).
2. * (2:40) Vocals have Ian Mackaye's cadence when he's doing that detached sing/speaking. Then it gets loud and he kind of sounds like Ian Mackaye shouting. Basically I'm saying is sounds like Fugazi.
3. (3:42) Sort of nu-metal.
4. * (2:05) Loud, quiet, loud. Heavy guitars, heavy drums.
5. (4:23) Modest Mouse meets metal. Song stops and new one starts with 1.5 min left?
6. (5:33) Dueling guitars and uptempo drums. Starts and stops a few times. Strange, effects-driven outro.
7. (2:31) lots of hammering and pulling, lots of opportunities for drum fills. "Leaking bedsores," gross!
8. (3:52) More heavy quasi-metal stuff. Screaming!
