Hard bop trombone summit from an all Art Blakey-alum band. (Get it? “The bones of ART?”) In addition to Turre, there are 3 other trombones, plus drums, bass, and keys. The horn harmonies are wickedly tight and the playing and arrangements first rate. Great stuff.

*1. Tight and swinging right from the get. Wonderful horns & keys.
2. Relaxed and luscious ballad w/some nicely muted solos.
*3. Nicely gritty, brassy, & tight. Solid horn solos interspersed w/keys.
*4. Swinging w/cooly varied horn tones & techniques. We like.
*5. Low key cinematic noir sound w/a really hip & rich sound.
6. Odd changes from 4/4 to 9/4 signatures. Quirky & cool.
7. A warm and lovely ballad w/passages of serenity.
8. Midtempo mix of sounds & styles w/nice ensemble work.
9. Nicely lowdown homage to Texas blues. Some gritty solos.
*10. Upbeat Cuban jam w/Latin perc adding spice. Caliente!
