When you have two members of the formidable Demigodz and Army of the Pharoahs at your side, you can expect nothing short of a verbal beatdown. With Celph Titled and Esoteric providing a barrage of metaphors and word play to crush competition, Effect manages to take down a few himself with his brand of lyricism over Dang’s use of what appears to be mid-80s drum programming and bassline, and vocal samples from Audio Two’s “Peer Pressure” and very sped up vocal sample from K-OS’s “The Anthem”. Any hip hopper who laments the state of music and hip hop today will be able to identify with the song’s sentiment.
