Another killer album from Toronto’s Kennedy, maybe his best. Penetrating lyrics, solid music. Instrumentation of banjo, harmonica, percussion, keys; almost all acoustic. Unique blues, w/ a bit of funk, country, folk, gospel. Incredible stuff. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: All of ‘em.

1. (4:38) Mid. Hip and hypnotic, easy-going gait.
2. (2:48) Mid. Taj Mahal-ish, rubberband vibe.
3. (5:38) Slow. Deep, dark, sparse. Serious Blues.
4. (3:19) Mid. Old-timey / modern country blues.
5. (2:48) Slow / Mid. Sparse, gospel vibe.
6. (2:52) Mid. Funky, hypnotic blues.
7. (4:43) Mid. Chain gang work song.
8. (3:21) Mid / Fast. Upbeat, carnival blues.
9. (3:37) Mid. Plodding beat, fun vibe.
10. (3:35) Mid. A bit ominous, fishin’ and women.
11. (3:07) Mid. Urgent w/ heavy lyrics.
12. (3:47) Mid. Testifyin’ blues.
13. (2:26) Mid. Old-timey INSTRUMENTAL rag.
14. (7:00) Slow. Sparse. Heavy lyrics. Gospel blues.
