FRANÇOIS HOULE & HÅVARD WIIK: Aves Songlines, 2013 AVANT-JAZZ – Clarinet/piano duets, with tons of space around the slow, aching phrases, but occasionally it gets energetic and quite spiky. Houle stretches, flutters, and groans within Wiik’s abstract shapes.
