Geddes - Waiting EP label: Mobilee

This is a really nice tech-y house release that has strong psychedlic and moody influences. London-based Geddes is a DJ/producer who definitely straddles the line between techno and house in his quest to remain dedicated to the underground. This is a very nice release on a very established label, Mobilee. For me, the strongest track is clearly #1 "The Sound" - excellent and psychedelic, and I also really enjoyed #3 "Young" which was super dubby and quite a change of pace.

1. "The Sound" (7:14) - A surprisingly psychedelic tech-house track. Good beats & claps as you would expect, but there's a twisted little reverberating tone that gets all twisted and warbled during the break. Excellent.
2. "Waiting" (8:20) - Tech-house again, but this time with some emotion/drama to it. The synths are a little moodier and insistent, there's a sort of gothy female vocal in there as well.
3. "Young" (6:08) - Dubby tech-house that features a lot of irregular bassy beats and assorted percussion loops. Very stone-y. The moody vocal samples are also quite nice.
