Hank Williams III // A Fiendish Threat

Hank! As far as I'm concerned, everything this guy touches is gold. I've listened to this album a bunch by now and I admit that the songs all sound pretty similar and are often too long, but it's still some fun rockin overblown ACOUSTIC punk. It's a unique blend of psychobilly, 77 punk (Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, Ramones), and country. For punk, this is quite accessible and the slap-bass makes it fun and bouncy…though it may not be a punk sound that you've ever heard before; try to approach this without any preconceptions.

.) + + (3:42) This one rips
.) + + + (4:20) Catchy 77-punk vibe. My favorite.
.) FCC (4:50) Good but says "Fuck"
.) + + (5:11) Kind of eerie extended pedal steel solo in here, fiddles later
.) (6:16) Kind of Alice In Chains vibe but twice as long as it needs to be.
.) (5:09) This one makes me feel kinda tense. Cool breakdown in the middle.
.) + + + (4:01) Fast. This one rips. My second favorite.
.) (3:56) Mid-tempo. I like that pedal steel.
.) (4:43) Lots of fiddle in this one.
.) + + (2:49) More 77-punk vibes! Catchy!
.) + + (2:14) Acoustic hardcore with cool fiddle streaks and noises.
.) (3:17) Slow acoustic no distortion alice in chains vibe
.) (4:56) Meh
