Barfi! (2012) is a Bollywood (aka Hindi) film & India's entry for the 2013 Oscars. The film takes its name from the protagonist Murphy "Barfi" Johnson. Directed by Anurag Basu the film stars Ranbir Kapoor & PriyankaChopra (aka PeeCee, who recently made her debut as a singer & teamed with Pitbull for one of the tracks.)

Pritam is the music director of Barfi! Bollywood films typically have 6-8 tracks sung by different singers either asa solo or duet. Yes, those are the terms used in Bollywood.

There are 10 songs with some duplicate tracks sung by different singers & in different styles. The album fuses Indian, European & Latin musical influences & has some delightful & happy numbers. The songsrange from happy, delightful tunes to slow, poetic ones.

Hindi is the language used in this album.

1. Delightful tune reminiscent of those 1990s songs like
Extreme's "More Than Words." Sung in ballad style.
Singer: Nikhil Paul George
2. Slow & poetic song rendered in a ghazal (Persian poetry
style) form by Arjit Singh.
3. The opening harmonica notes instantlydraw you in &reminds you of Frech/Italian music. Happy song
Singer: Nikhil Paul George
4. Papon & Sunidhi Chauhan create magic in this track. Slow tune with hnits of Latin/Bassa Nova influences.
5.Delightful & happy tune.Fusion of Indian & western influences with
some English words thrown in this Hindi song.
Singer: Mohit Chauhan
6. Slow, ghazal number. Same as #2 sung by Rekha Bharadwaj, who is known for her ghazal style of singing.
7. Slow & mesmerizing.Lullaby quality to the song.
Singer: Arjit Singh
8. Delighful duet. Same as #3. Sung by Shreya Ghosal & Nikhil Paul George.
9. Slow & beautifully rendered ghazal by the classically trained singer Shafqat Amanat Ali. Note-the music bed that has piano, guitar along with traditional Indian instruments.
10. This is rather unusual. Generally the person who write the lyrics of Bollywood songs does not sing. Here's an exception.Swanand Kirike gives the song (same as #5)
his own spin & it works.
