Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2014-03-03
Sacramento based one woman band creates low fi four track sounding dream-noise bass, drums, synth psyche noise with buried spacey girl vocs (if any). Fuzzy and weird, echoey, noise friendly, for fans of Bowery Electric, Bardo Pond, Carlton Melton, Flying Saucer Attack, the usual suspects.

No FCCs. Try tracks 6, 2, 9, 3, 1

1) (6:50) simple heavy rock beat, goes double time with layered noisey bass, guitars, buried vocals, echoey perc. Embellishments, psycho feel to the vague melodies
2) (4:19) big stoney beat, hollow bass driven
3) (4:00) feels like a reprise of previous, drums are crashier in the mix, fits and starts, like an outtake of previous almost, nice and fucked up
4) (3:17) simple synth dominates cacophony held together with distant vocs, ends cold
5) (3:16) quiet start, then loud synth plod with ethereal melodies
6) (2:43) a nice swing to it, almost accessible with the breathy subliminal vocs
7) (2:41) simple high hat type beat, meandering feel
8) (2:15) almost looped vocs, ride cymbal drum with spacey synth
9) (4:29) another good heavy slow plodder, with layers of distant haunting vocs, cool trippy stoney psyche
