Baltimore-based collective of emcees, Christcentric, came through with another high calibre release, to follow up their last album, The Ephesians Project. This time, they deal with the New Testament book of Jude, rapping line by line about the instruction contained therein. Classic East Coast beat craft, turntablism and rhyme schemes, with a heavy emphasis on doctrine.

Recommended: 2, 4, 10, 12, 13, 15

1. By Faith (1:21)
Dialogue from an old film about Martin Luther and the Reformation, with Luther's declaration of the necessity of Christ, not religious crutches

2. Jude 1-2 The Salutation (3:56)
Boom bap beat with a nice scratch chorus. Lyrics rapped from Jude's intro, with modern embellishments.

3. Jude 3 The Faith Once For All Delivered (3:21)
Mid-tempo track with lyrics about contending for the truth of the Gospel.

4. Jude 4 Clandestine Workers (3:29)
Serious boom bap sounds, with pointed lyrics about frauds who creep into churches with faulty doctrines.

5. Jude 5-7 Destruction of Apostates (2:58)
Poetic reflections about judgment, as shown in examples of Israelites who rebelled against Moses, fallen angels and Sodom & Gomorrah.

6. Thy Kingdom Come! (4:25)
DO NOT play from the beginning. The first 8 seconds contain sounds from an EMS alert. The song, itself, is a lyrical treatise on eschatology by label mate, Benjamin the Esquire.

7. Jude 8-10 Despisers of the Truth (3:55)
Heavy boom bap track, containing snippets of a John MacArthur sermon. Lyrics describe the demarcation between truth lovers and haters.

8. Jude 11 Threefold Apostasy (3:56)
Slow, odd meter beat with a symphonic sample. Lyrics describe religious tricksters who twist the Scriptures.

9. God's Righteousness (1:20)
Another film snippet, with Martin Luther reasoning with a colleague about interpretation of Scripture.

10. Jude 12-13 Divine Indictment of Evil Workers (3:30)
Piano sample makes way for uptempo bounce drum track, with lyrics about enemies that sow discord within the church.

11. Jude 14-15 Enoch's Prophecy (3:28)
Slow, hard beat with old jazz samples for an ambient sound. Lyrics loosely set forth Jude's description of Enoch, in rhyme form.

12. Doctrinal Rhymeschemes w/ Omri & B-Doe (4:38)
Lyrically, the title says it all. Musically, a Portishead sample is used, with stellar scratch choruses.

13. Jude 16-19 Unholy Separatists (4:12)
Uptempo beat, with energetic scratch chorus and nice Billie Holiday sample. Spitfire lyrics about enemies who cause division in the church.

14. Jude 20-23 Faith's Resource (3:58)
Another solidly programmed drum beat. Lyrics exhort listeners to abide in the love of God.

15. Jude 24-25 The Doxology (3:58)
Beautiful lyrical handling of the last 2 verses of Jude. Music consists of a nice variety of strings over a hard drum beat. Very melodic.

16. Wrath & Grace w/ Omri, Benjamin the Esquire and Righteouz Knight (4:42)
Mid-tempo track, with a sample of "Hard Times" by Baby Huey. Emcees trade lyrics about God's justice and forgiveness. Ends abruptly at 4:42.
