J.J. Caillier has seen his share of Zydeco Music, from the eyes of someone introduced and immersed in Zydeco Music and Creole culture and as a struggling, now seasoned and highly successful musician. He literally grew up under the tutelage and apprenticeship of his father Mr. J.J. Caillier II, an accomplish producer/promoter, entrepreneur, and D.J., by working in his father’s Zydeco and Blues Record store. This unique experience, has helped shape, develop and define the musical approach of J.J. Caillier and the Zydeco Knockouts, turning the group into one of the most consistent, yet under rated, Zydeco outfits to emerge within the last five years. Do You Wanna Dance is clearly the group’s best and most polished work to this date, and has paved the way for J.J. Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts to be heard and seen by wider and growing fan base. This CD has 11 quality tracks that will keep you dancing and actually listening to the music for a long time.

Track 1) A Change Is Gonna Come-Sam Cooke inspired anthem build up-TEN LONG YEARS-J.J. Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts are here to stay!”

Track 2) Do You Wanna Dance- First single released on the CD and is a very strong track. This particular song became one of the hottest Zydeco Dance tracks of 2006 with lots of local and regional radio play.

Track 3) Tell Me Who Perhaps one of the strongest and most polished tracks on the CD, and is a clear demonstration of the band’s maturity and growth, this song is a classic in the making and has all the elements of a crossover hit while still remaining distinctly “Zydeco.”

Track 4) I Wanna Know is a smooth Zydeco Groove track. J.J. Caillier’s gritty, but smooth voice blends exceptionally well on this track with his accordion play, giving the song a jazzy but gritty Zydeco feel with that Zydeco Knockout edge.

Track 5) Look Like You catchy dance tune with some clever lyrics, definitely trailride material!

Track 6) Heaven J.J. Caillier interpretation of Los Lonely Boy’s hit, and Festival house rocking song!

Track 7) Good Thang Man classic song re-made Zydeco Knockout style

Track 8) Make It Do (What It Do) is a hot track and the sleeper of the CD. With edgy accordion playing, short syncopated beats and that gritty voice, the track has the elements that has defined and distinguished the J.J. Caillier sound.

Track 9) Bikers (Where Ya’ll At)…The Biker’s anthem of 2006, this is another hot track that is a throwback incorporating elements of the early edgy J.J. Caillier sound with a modern feel. This track is hot!!!

Track 10) Pop That Tuddy Cat No doubt about this track, a hot trailride song…nothing else to do but…Saddle Up and Dance, Dance, Dance!

Track 11) Wine Alley Boogie Just with you think the you’ve had enough, J.J. Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts hits you with a smoking Zydeco Instrumental…this track is on all cylinders and will make you work up a sweat…out of shape dancers may want to sit this one out!

Do You Wanna Dance is impressive! However, there is almost an anticipation that the best work from J.J. Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts is yet to come. Zydeco Nation, be prepared, J.J. Caillier & the Zydeco Knockouts have arrived.
