Viennese drone-master Ulrich Rois returns with two ritualistic masterpieces, 19-minute epic journeys through spiritual underworlds. Like every release he’s done, it’s totally different from the rest, yet unmistakably Bird People. Give it a spin!
RIYL beauty, magic, serenity
1. (19:16) looping flute and singing-bowl drones give way to darker timbres halfway through, concludes with carefree sitar jamming
2. (19:41) dark buzzing synth drones, looping banjo, bagpipe maybe? It all gets extremely noisy and chaotic, even harsh by the end, though the clutter slowly dissipates and we conclude with some bird chirpings.
