Craft Spells, Nausea. Dream pop/ Indie/Bedroom pop. Released in 2014, this is the second full length from Craft Spells. If you listened to Idle Labor you might remember a dreamy 80’s inspired indie pop similar to that of New Order. They have shifted away from that sound. It is still dreamy indie pop but vaguely reminiscent of Real Estate, yet done poorly. To their credit, they try to incorporate piano, strings, and even a trip hop beat in one of their songs. Regardless, and this is my opinion - decide for yourself - but this is a bland and boring album with much lacking. Notable tracks: 5, 6, 7, and 10. Track 1 is the single, but maybe shouldn’t be. RIYL: Wild Nothing, Real Estate, Small Black.
.(4:29) Bland dreamy indie pop. Starts with bells. Their okay, but not really. Says how they feel with a word, nausea. Lyrics aren’t so good.
.(4:23) Piano pop, bland with dreamy vocals.
.(4:22) Mellow vibe, more piano. Mediocre singing.
.(1:43) Chill instrumental
.(3:53) *Piano intro. Strings halfway through. Nicely incorporates both strings and piano. Okay song.
.(4:18) *Heavy bouncy bass. Pop song. Gets better as song goes on.
.(3:58) *Okay, “When this is all I have left to feel…”
.(3:01) Slow and mellow.
.(3:02) Dreamy indie trip hop.
.(3:49) *Faster, soft vocals and slide electric guitar. “You’ve wasted too much of my time.”
.(3:11) Mellow instrumental outro.
