Megafauna, Maximalist. Rock/ Prog / Alt Rock / Experimental. Austin natives. This album is all about the guitar and Dani Neff’s spaced out vocals. Reverbnation says “Imagine if King Crimpson and Bjork had a Jimi Hendrix inspired lovechild – Megafuana would be their offspring.” I don’t 100% agree with the Bjork comparison, but feel more Portishead, The Breeders, etc. FCC Clean, all tracks are good. 1.(3:03) ** Heavy, rocking, guitar work. Fast paced. Excellent. 2.(3:21) * Heavy rock with spacey vocals. “Energize your spirit”. Much solo. So rock. 3.(3:37) *Poppy “oo oowoo woo” intro. Then rock out to positivity. 4.(3:36) *Slowed down, messy, noisy, trippy. Gets a little metalish/post hard core at 1:21. Love these vocals. 5.(4:24) *Slowed down and spacey. Picks up with heavy guitar. 6.(3:05) *Prog. Rocks hard. 7.(2:49) *Again it rocks out. 8.(4:26) *Spacey vocals, portishead-esque but with much guitar. Cool slow section at 2:20. 9.(3:17) *Slow. Spacey. Mellow. 10.(3:24) *Slow and spacey then picks up. 11.(2:11) *Fast and heavy guitar. | ||
