Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2014-07-08
Big heavy rock, with doomy vocs, big guitar/bass/drums. “Post metal”? Not walls of doom or grind, but doomy. Nothing growled, lusting for coo-kies, but screamed. Quite spatial actually in the realm of Isis, Neurosis, Neurot bands. Nice bass playing/production. My picks: 1

1) (9:24) quiet start, some ambient sounds, droning keys/synth, drums slowly appear then guitar/bass slow chords, machine gun double bass drum, death/grind vocs appear, doomy but not wall of doom drone, more just heavy
2) (5:48) this is post’y, Isis’y, slow but big drums and technical/discordant chord structures and bass playing in octaves
3) (6:38) slow and doomy, depressive music to slash your wrists to
