Debut album from London 4-piece Woman's Hour out on Secretly Canadian. This album is mellow indie rock with beautiful synthetic and organic sounds. Beautiful in its simplicity. RIYL: The XX, Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Warpaint, Sade, Dido. FCC CLEAN! Recommended Tracks: 1, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 1. (3:33) Unbroken Sequence - Choppy synth, great melody, rich choruses, and lovely harmonies. 2. (3:21) Conversations - Slightly quicker (not up tempo by any means) sounds very 80s instrumentally. 3. (4:28) To The End - Very interesting melody, more bluesy lyric 4. (4:07) Darkest Place - Mellow electro pop. 5. (3:39) In Stillness We Remain - This is my favorite, very sweet pop song. Love her voice in this one. 6. (4:28) Our Love Has No Rhythm - This one reminds me of a Sade song. You could fall asleep happy to this one :) 7. (3:13) Her Ghost - Haunting, as the title may suggest but with a great melody and a catchy beat. 8. (3:35) Two Sides of You - Slow and depressing, still pretty though. 9. (4:24) Devotion - Mid tempo electro pop 10. (3:46) Reflections - Another bluesy track 11. (3:32) The Day That Needs Defending - Sweet mellow electro pop (again) |
