Tompkins Square reissues a 1971 album whose title describes the contents inside perfectly: this is fiddle music, searing and rich and almost always with no accompaniment. Born in 1935 and now a resident of eastern Washington, Dawson’s led a pretty crazy life, and his performances here are raucous and adventurous to match.
