Austin quartet. This is their third album released on Matador. Dark fuzzy guitar, garage punk, with great melodies. All of the songs are pretty similar, fuzzy guitar, growly voice, I guess this is what merited the thumbs down for genericness that Pichfork bestowed on this album, but I enjoyed it none-the-less. RIYL: ZIG ZAGS, The Strokes, Cloud Nothings (kind of), YUCK.

Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 4, 6

1. (3:46) Metal Flake - This is the single, it is a straight forward rock song with a good melody.
2. (3:16) Cry Of Tin - This one is great, probably my favorite. Some great guitar melodies and a little less fuzz.
3. (4:05) Chrome Jamb - This one is darker sounding and has even more vocal distortion.
4. (4:28) Moondog First Quarter - Another one of my favorites, got super stuck in my head.
5. (3:52) Apaches Throat - Mid tempo, a lot of floor tom, a little psychedelic.
6. (4:01) Mercy - A little more mellow, less distortion.
7. (3:21) Ramona Cruz - Simple uptempo rock and roll.
8. (3:30) Dressed In Black - Driving beat, great head bobbing song.
9. (3:59) Slow Death - Slow, dark and depressing.
10. (4:31) Blow The Scum Away - Uptempo, noisy guitar, nothing that special.
