The Pyramids, Soft Machine, Sun Ra, Carlton Melton, Bitches Brew Miles Davis all come to mind. 4 long improv tracks layer organic instruments (horns, percussion, violin/cello/bowed bass, bass, guitar) with tape and delay effects, likely all performed live, all noisey as hell. No "vocals" but some vocalizations here and there. All tracks are amazing, incredible really. Recorded 2 weeks after the untimely passing of his mother, these recordings are a tribute to her but also capture the pain and passion involved in such things. Chicago based impresario, recorded in Sao Paulo Brasil with locals.
1)* (16:45) sun ra'esque percussion collage with horn to start, then simple melodies plucked, cool sample/synth layers and it becomes weird and beautiful and strange all at once as a drum beat appears, an epic wall of sound and ends noisy as hell
2)* (16:56) kick ass rocking romp that is like sun ra fairport convention (violin) soft machine bitches brew all in a blender, ends with a big noise wash ends cold
3)* (18:09) backwards masked rhythms, could very well be the previous played backward, tape reels flipped (but obviously it's not), super tripped out and cool, noisey kinda chills out a bit before picking up again
4) (16:17) two songs in one: begins droney with cello then picks up a bit of a gallop beat with subtle simple melody, sax, killer echoed trumpet THIS BASICALLY ENDS with about 7 min remaining, then verrrry quietly starts a low quiet drone led by quiet vocs and builds to a minimum entropy "ohhmmm"
