MAINSTREAM JAZZ COMBO
Another excellent album by this superb Joshua Redman-led combo. Most tracks feature teamed-up saxophone and piano, with a strong bass and drums rhythm section. All tracks are well worth listening to. (It was hard to be sparing with the *s.)

All instrumental. No FCC issues.

1 * Mid-tempo. Piano & tenor sax trade off a song-like melody. (5:07)
2 ** Slow. Redman on soprano. Little circular theme. Builds & builds & builds. (7:06)
3 ** Slow start. Picks up steam. Very melodic. Terrific bass solo. (7:57)
4 ** Mid-tempo. Varying themes. Driving, high energy. Great band interaction. (8:57)
5 * Slow. Graceful but melancholy ballad. (4:37)
6 Mid-tempo. Starts real easy; gets bigger and bigger. Ends fortissimo. (6:39)
7 Slow. Sparse first half; faster, spirited second. (5:34)
8 ** Fast. Rocks out! Spurts of melody from sax; heavy chords on pno; tons of drum. (7:38)
9 * Mid-tempo. Sparse, lonely intro; then lively, soulful tune with lots of funky bass. (7:04)
10 Slow. Plaintive, searching intro; settles into a pretty little piece. (3:27)
