Ghost Bath - Moonlover
Label: Northern Silence
Review: Dark Emperor
One of the most hyped albums of 2015... in terms of underground stuff. The band was found to not be Chinese as originally thought and some 'bad publicity' is propelling this one..... and the kicker is that the album is even better than what people expected. More refined that the band's first release thanks to a more cohesive direction in their music. If you liked "Funeral" or Deafheaven, this release will make your day/week.
FCC CLEAN... jeez can you even tell what the dude is saying?
Play: 2, 3, 6 and 7
1. (01:26) - Instrumental.... are you ready?
2. (09:08) - Top 10 of 2015 song, instantly! The band sounds tighter than ever... and what are those drum patterns... Pop I hear? Brilliant song. (6 out of 5)
3. (08:44) - This is the most awesomely unhappy song that contains a non-negated use of the word happy in the title. Bleak, doomy and very moody. (5.5 out of 5)
4. (04:47) - Super mellow, nothing much going on. More like a transition piece (3 out of 5).
5. (04:03) - Dramatic atmospheric piece that will transport you far away (4 out of 5)
6. (07:33) - More Doom (Death Doom, not the Black Sabbath/Pentagram Doom) than anything the band has done before, this track is quite intense as it blends back into Blackgazey territories. (5.5 out of 6)
7. (06:25) - Catchy tune with a high level of intensity with funky atmospheric elements. (5 out of 5).
