Shuddh Desi Romance (Pure Indian Romance) is a hit Bollywood film. A little bit about the title of the picture - Shuddh means “pure” in Hindi and “Desi” refers to “South Asian,” and in this case you can either narrow it to mean someone from India or broaden it to mean “South Asian.” And romance - you know what that means. The songs and instrumental are not over-the-top. All tracks work. 1. Fun song that has a tinge of old-sty Bollywood music. Sung by Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade. 2. A lil about attuning & a catchy riff makes this song work. Sung by Jigar Saraiya and Priya Saraiya. 3. Peppy & happy song that will have you tapping your foot. Sung by Sunadhi Chauhan and Mohit Chauhan. 4. An interesting & fun tune that mixes up different musical elements. And, it has that English word & in this case it’s “random.” Yep, you read that right. Sung by Divya Kumar. 5. A bit of flamenco riff in the start & the music bed acquires an interesting tone, while the song is sung in Rajashthani (I think). And here is the fun part - the title of the song is “Can You Kiss Me.” 6. Mellow instrumental with Spanish guitar, accordian (think so) & flute. 7. You want to listen to the track after that teasing intro. The title of the track gives you an idea - “That Sharp Kind of Attraction.” INSTRUMENTAL. 8. Fun. “Will You Be My Boyfriend,” is the title of this scintillating instrumental. 9. A sparkling track with a folksy edge from Rajasthan. | ||
