| First album that the leader of Rivulets has released under his own name. Two side-length, instrumental electric guitar jams—both slow, spare, and meditative. Amundson starts with relatively simple chord progressions, letting the variation happen in the texture and the intensity of his playing. At certain points the music is soft and wispy, and at others it’s sturdy and gritty like heavy Neil Young or Jason Molina. In a way, it’s an extremely simple album, but it quietly grows on the listener through repetition. The two tracks are relatively similar in feel. Track 1 is 15:29, and track 2 is 16:53. No FCCs. | ||
