Between Telephone Wires And The Spider’s Web

(It seems a few bands with this moniker are around)
2014 release from this Bay Area based band, comprising tracks that appeared on compilations no longer available. Experimental, ambient, lushness. Rich & delicate drone mixed with various recordings & instrumentation. All slowish paced with varying degrees of either the mellow or the sinister. The spoken words parts are for the most part indecipherable.
Like: Rene Hall (LA Duo), Deison & Mingle, Rasalhague, Phelios
A quality release. Play them all.
No FCC’s (All Instrumentals apart from 2,7)
1) As I Searched For Answers (6.03) Slow paced with harsh tendencies. Heavy breathing style effect combined with elevators ascending & descending into happiness.
2) In His Counting House (3.01) Childlike spoken word background. Eerie. Pretty much perfect.
3) A Future Touch (5.51) Droney bliss with birdsong.
4) Chaos At the Volta Bureau (1.59) Moody Film Noir piece.
5) I Searched Through Salty tears (5.51) Soft textures within this jangling drone classic. Scraping knives adds to the atmosphere.
6) Scanning The Frequencies For Hope (4.59) After your brains have been slowly boiled, things get quite relaxing.
7) Pi Djinization(3.14) Male spoken word accompanying the static & waves.
8) The Gentle Wind Of Kibou (5.53) Heavier drilling percussion underneath a full drone sound. Organ to finish.
9) A Waltz With Maciunas (5.28) Finger snapping with blips. Mild, yet intense.
10) An Earthly Building…What Else Can Man Build? (3.40) Ominous train carriage sound. Bleak & caustic. DiJ-esque
11) Les Pensées Sauvages (19.14) Has many emotions at first & changes directions. It seems a bit busy until the serene quality takes over. Bliss.
12) Break Every Link With Air And Mist (3.01) The beat fades to leave a darker sound. Slow paced, albeit with an itch you just can’t scratch, in the background.
