I'm Calling You from My Dreams is the debut album from London via Lecce, Italy’s Matilde Davoli. It’s a charmingly constructed, synthesizer-based recording complemented with rhythmic guitar parts and melancholic, ethereal vocals. Influenced by 1970’s European animation soundtracks, psychedelic folk, and mid-eighties synth pop, I'm Calling You from My Dreams might suggest overload but its uncluttered production and compact length communicate pleasantly well. Soundscapes, memories, and cities.

RIYL: M83, Lower Dens, Beach House, Helado Negro, and Tamaryn’s Cranekiss.

FCC CLEAN!!
Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7

1. (3:04) *#1 – Synth-based opener, mysterious. Pleasant melody.
2. (2:41) **Realize – Dream pop invocation here. Great guitar riff. Upbeat and playful.
3. (4:05) **Tell Me What You See – Mellow and elegant. Guitar, vocals, and synth work complement all well here.
4. (3:19) Dust – Synthesizer obsessions here. Electronics and pop music mixed well in this tune. M83 influenced.
5. (4:17) *I'm Calling You from My Dreams – Without the vocals, this could easily have been from a French sci-fi 1970’s animation soundtrack. Trance pop.
6. (2:56) Going Down – Slow, almost acoustic. Another trance pop intervention here.
7. (3:13) **Summer Ending – Perfect 21st century pop here. Slow and captivating. Helado Negro influenced.
8. (3:50) Still Rolling – More 21st century pop moments. Synth constructed. Psych folk 101.
9. (4:18) *Salvation – 1980’s video game music influence here. Played at the speed of trance pop. Hypnotic.
10. (1:44) Morning – Slow and brief trance pop epilogue.
