Alt rock. Debut EP from an alt rock band with a name which will be fun to say on the radio. Crisp, clean, friendly sound. Some synth, lots of guitar, subtle drums. These guys remind me a bit of Phoenix, a bit of Real Estate, with guitar hooks providing a nice counterbalance to the vocalist. I think they’re at their best when they let the guitar play some more extended stuff.

Try 1, 4, 5. No FCCs.

1) “How It Starts” (3:20): Catchy hook. Guitars really make this one.
2) “All Alone” (3:35): Quiet start. Guitar and voice alternate for a while.
3) “Cold” (4:30): Rugged guitar makes an impression at the start, but drags a bit long.
4) “I’m Wrong” (3:52): Tighter rhythm propels this one forward.
5) “Disposable Friends” (4:00): Good syncopation makes for a catchy chorus. Cool post-rocky builds on this one.
